Nerea Uriarte is a researcher at IKR since 2010. She has worked in the design and development of a SIL2 railway embedded platform and a SIL4 embedded systems for railway signaling (ERTMS/ETCS). She holds a Master in Electronics and Signal Processing by ENSEEIHT from Toulouse and Telecommunication Technical Engineering by Mondragon University.

She is a certified TÜV Functional Safety engineer for the design of hardware and software based on the IEC-61508 standard (Fs/Eng. 5556 / 12). She has previously worked for AIRBUS France in design and development of flight control systems after doing her internship at Thales Alenia Space in ASICs’ design.
