Jon Pérez is a researcher at IKR since 2002, he is currently head of the electronics department and embedded systems research line. He has previously worked in the design and development of safety-critical SIL4 embedded systems for railway signalling (ERTMS/ETCS) and railway power traction systems for 10 years.

He is a certified TÜV Functional Safety engineer for the design of hardware and software based on the IEC-61508 standard (Fs/Eng. 2378 / 10). He is member of the AENOR Committee AEN/CTN 200 (safety standards). He finished his doctoral studies in Computer Science at TU Wien in the field of safety-critical embedded systems. He has previously worked for Motorola Semiconductor in the field of multicore DSPs.
