Brief description of organisation: During the past years Cobham Gaisler has been one of the main actors in the development of products for the space market, ranging from Intellectual Property (IP) implemented as synthesizable VHDL code, to integrated circuits comprising multicore processors. Cobham Gaisler (previously named Gaisler Research) was founded in January 2001, and provides technical expertise in the field of on-board data handling, processor design, software tools and high-performance simulators. Its key personnel have over 100 years of combined experience in the commercial space sector as well as within the European Space Agency. The personnel have been leading the design methodology development in the microelectronics areas, establishing European standards for the development of ASICs and FPGAs, and the usage of VHDL in microelectronics.
